Dr. Henry Nzekwu is an innovative entrepreneur and thought leader with over thirty years’ experience nurturing and developing successful businesses and helping shape policies for governments and public sector entities. He is a 1984 graduate of Medicine from the University College Hospital University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Oyo State and an Alumnus of The Lagos Business School. He holds a Diploma in Sports Medicine. He has over this period earned himself the reputation of being a creative mobiliser and manager of resources. 

His work life started at the University College Hospital where he served as House Officer. He subsequently worked at the National Sports Commission as Medical Officer and Team doctor to several Nigerian sports teams which he led to many international championships in Manchester UK, Edmonton, Canada, Bormio, Italy, Luanda, Angola, Abidjan, amongst others. In 1986 Dr. Nzekwu was appointed to the board of the National Sports Commission and assigned to the Basketball Federation. 

After a short stint in private medical practice, Henry ventured into business in the Public Relations and Media sector where he offered high-end strategic advisory and consultancy services to many blue chip companies and agencies such as CMB Toyo Glass, Cadbury, Michelin, Coca-Cola, Shell Petroleum, The Nigerian Stock Exchange, amongst others. 

As a trusted advisor to National and Sub-national Governments across varied sectors he has conceptualised a broad range of sensitive, Pan-Nigerian communication campaigns on their behalf. He was resource person to the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, the National Action Committee on HIV/AIDS, the Nigerian Army, the Federal Ministries of Health, Information and National Orientation, Youth and Sports, the Federal Inland Revenue service (FIRS), the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) and various state Governments. He held Observer Status as communication consultant to the Economic Management Team of the Federal Government of Nigeria in 2013. 

Henry has designed interventions for several International Health and Development Partner Organizations such as the United Nations Population Fund, The European Union, Department of International Development and the McArthur Foundation. 

Dr. Nzekwu is Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Metacura Development Initiative, a not-for-profit organisation focused on community developmental programmes in Nigeria and is Chief Executive Officer of Messagewise Limited, a strategic communications and enterprise development firm, owners of Bridge Radio 98.7FM Asaba. He is a Member of the Institute of Directors, a Member of the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria, a Fellow of the Chartered institute of Diplomacy and Marketing. He has been honoured as a distinguished alumnus of the University of Ibadan.
